To wrap up the holiday season, we thought we’d review the wave of 2009 agency christmas cards. For many people, especially those in the creative field, holiday cards are something to take pride in. This year we had a lot of fun with our holiday e-greeting – we dressed up in festive sweaters and crammed into a tiny Wal-Mart portrait studio to take an Eclipse “family” portrait.
We’ve seen some pretty creative Christmas greetings over the years. But this is the first year we’ve come across a list of best and worst agency holiday cards, click here for the list.
One of our clear favourites that made the list is the Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, “New School vs. Old School” video, which really raises the bar for next year in our opinion. Interesting to see that most of the ones on this list are videos or fancy flash sites linked up to twitter posts, maybe it’s a sign of the times?
Our favourite from the worst list was Publicis London’s, “I’ve Got a Feeling”, which led us to the original “I’ve got a Feeling” lipsync by a communications department in Montreal. If you’re not one of the 3.7 million people who’ve seen the original, check it out!
Is it wrong to say sometimes we still prefer traditionally printed or hand-made cards? Check out this beautifully diecut holiday card from Wink Creative.
If you know of some great examples of holiday e-greetings, feel free to comment and let us know as we’d love to keep them in mind for next time.
Best wishes in the new year!
